My 2nd best time of the year with the holidays being the favorite, Spring simply brings everything back to life from the lush colorful flowers/trees to the greenery of the lawn. It’s also the time to bring out the warm weather wardrobe and light aired pieces mostly in linen, silk or cotton materials. The ultimate goal is to keep cool so I lean more towards clothing designed for warm weather; typically constructed from breathable, lightweight fabrics. You can stick to lighter neutrals such as white, beige, cream for not only do these hues reflect (rather than absorb) sunlight, they will also combine effortlessly with every other color you already have in your wardrobe. In this post, I picked a more vibrant color in the yellow mustard as a focal point of the overall look; the unlined structure, soft shoulders and patch pockets eludes a relaxed look combined with a pair of brown plaid pants, white BD shirt, navy tie and brown suede loafers while giving me the versatility to switch to a casual look by replacing the pants with jeans and dropping the tie.

As winter dwindles down, I took the opportunity to brace the cold one last time with this suit. Made from wool, flannel is a soft woven material brushed to create extra softness. The brushing process uses a fine metal brush, which rubs the fabric to create fine fibres from the loosely spun yarns. This suit is made with wool flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico, a family-owned mill that has been spinning some of the world’s finest fabrics with a noticeably soft handfeel for 15 generations. During the fall/winter season, the one thing on our mind is to stay warm especially when outdoors. Proper layering of your attire will ensure you don’t freeze to death and that is where this body vest comes into play. Alongside your topcoat, this piece can be layered on a dress shirt, cardigan or even over your blazer/suit jacket. In this post, I elected for a 6 button double breasted vest made of 100% subalpino italian wool since the topcoat served as my only jacket. Given this is a more dressier fitted vest, you want to keep the puffiness at a minimum; it simply looks better underneath a dress coat. In this 3-part series, I will be showcasing the roll-neck aka “Turtleneck” sweater. This is one of the most versatile sweaters you can add to your wardrobe.
